Hello
While some of you are probably muttering "welcome to 6 months ago", I must admit I've only recently become aware of this feature.
I'm both intrigued and a bit... alarmed at this new concept. I can't decide if it's a great or terrible idea.
I'll be honest and say my prints aren't selling very well. I never expected to make a living at it, but I thought it would be nice if I could buy Playful a new outfit or two ... well, I guess I could buy her a pair of gloves I think there are factors that have nothing to do with "prints" per say that are inhibiting sales. One is that my art has appeals to a narrow segment of the population. While *we* think latex is awesome, to the general population it's not that appealing. Another is that I'm not that well known (so the amount of page views is modest) and that's in part because quite frankly, I'm "good, not great". I'm tremendously grateful for all your kind words of support, but there are definitely better fetish photographers out there!
But there *are* factors that are unique to prints. One is well, where do you put it!? I have a number of fetish prints... and I can't display them. There are kids and vanilla visitors in the house fairly regularly, I can't show this stuff. I certainly can't show them at work. I know some people do have the liberty of actually "using" prints, and that's awesome, but not everyone can. Another factor is cost - not everyone can afford to buy prints and pay shipping.
Premium content - high resolution digital files - avoids these "print-specific" issues. The display isn't an issue - if you are reading this, you are able to look at fetish material on your computer without getting in trouble (I hope). Price also doesn't have to be an issue. While I imagine I *could* sell files for ONE. MILLION. DOLLARS!!!!!! , in reality I really don't have to. The default "cut" for a print from DA is 80% (so at that level, if I sold a print for 10$, I get 2$). With premium content it's the reverse - DA only gets 20%. This mean I could sell a file for a lot less *but* make more money per sale - you pay less, I get more money, we all win right?
But... and of course, there is a but... the high res image is *the* most valuable component. It's the blueprint, the secret plans, the essence. If I sell those away, the only thing protecting me from the buyer abusing his purchase (re-selling the files, uploading it online on tumblr or some torrent, selling prints of it etc etc) is the good will of said buyer. And while you folks *rock*, we all know there are assholes out there.
As always, your insight would be welcomed

Happy new year, news and a question
Hello folks
First of all, I want to wish you all a happy 2013. 2012 was a good year, photography wise, and I hope 2013 will be the same. I guess I should work on catching up my editing haha. I already have one shoot in the making, and a tentative one in mind as well - but it will be trickier.
The calendar sale wasn't a big success... but it wasn't a total failure either. Thank you everyone who purchased it. It's still on sale incidentally (see http://www.deviantart.com/print/30073295/ ) - we are only halfway in January after all, and it is a bit like a mini-art-book. Thank you as well to all of you comments and fave, it does motivate
More calendar news - I'm in another one!
Hey folks. I'm honoured to announce that some of my photos are featured in Honeyhair's 2013 kinky calendar: http://www.honeyhair.net/calendar2013.php . Two of the photos are mine, including one that's never been published before :)
Honeyhair is a gem to photograph - being a model isn't just about being attractive, it's about knowing how to pose and move (I've been in front of the camera once or twice, it's a lot harder than it looks). I'm quite fond of her (and her partner Rikapt, which I count as a close friend) and I look forward to working with them again. She has an account here as well: http://honeyhair.deviantart.com/
Lastly, I'l
Views, thank yous, cameras and edits
Hello folks
About a year ago, I wrote an entry how my viewership had increased, and I had reached 15 000. Well now roughly a year later I've close to reaching 30 000 page views. It's not an amazing number, but it indicates progress, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your support. I really does motivate us to continue :)
I use to religiously thank every person who faved one of of my images. I find this is now impossible - not enough time, and deviantART starts accusing me of spamming anyway. So I've decided I will keep thanking people, but only those on the first page. This will give me more time for editing. I guess
Heavy Rubber Calendar 2013
Hello
Last year I toyed with this idea, but I think I'm going to bite the bullet and actually do it this year. I have more material, I'm starting earlier and I know more what I'm doing.
It will be a bit challenging because a lot of my photos are "portrait" and not landscape in orientation, so some photos may have a thick "border" on the sides. I'm not aiming for perfection though (no one is) and hopefully this will be a pretty cool calendar to have - I know there are a number of "kinky/fetishy" calendars out there, but few heavy rubber ones. It should be a good deal too - you get 12 prints for a very reasona
